DENG'S DIARY: HIGH HOPES FOR THE NEW SEASON
Tuesday 22 November, 2005

What's up UK.

The season's finally started and I'm happy just to be playing. We'd thought that my wrist injury was going to keep me out for at least the first month, but I've been OK. [Luol's averaging 13 points and 5 rebounds in 28 minutes a game].

We've lost our last two games - both of which were frustrating as we felt we could have won them - but I think the team is looking good this year. We're in Seattle tonight and I'm hoping to break the streak.

This week the Bulls announced that they're going to retire Scottie Pippen's jersey. I'm real happy for him. Scottie's been with us and helping me work on my game. The ceremony is going to be very emotional - not just for Scottie himself but for all the fans and everyone connected with the Bulls. He's one of the 50 greatest players of all time and helped the Bulls win six Championships. It's going to be an honour for me to be on the floor for that.

Looking ahead, and we've got a tough week coming up. Right now we're in the middle of a 6 game road trip. After tonight's game in Seattle we travel to L.A. to play the Lakers, then it's down to Texas for games against the Spurs and the Rockets. Those will be hard games, but I'm hoping we can get the job done.

Until next time,

Peace

Luol
