-
Darius
Defoe
Consistently proved to be a dominant force around the basket,
slam dunking his way to the top of the leaderboard. His high rebound
total, high shooting percentage and extra bonus point slam dunks
set him ahead of all competition.
- Pierre
Henry-Fontaine
Great all around play saw Pierre score highly across a number of
different areas. Good 3 point shooting (which earns an extra bonus
point), strong rebounding and more made baskets than anyone else
helped Pierre to a 2nd place finish on the leaderboard.
- Matthew
Bryan-Amaning
Matthew's length and athleticism helped him block shots, secure
rebounds and continue to score at a high percentage. Though he was
not on the leaderboard going into the last 2 hours of the night,
a strong push in the last hour saw him shoot up to number 3.
- Keith
Phillips
Perhaps the biggest surprise of the night, Keith's ability to play
the team game and make very few mistakes was rewarded with a top
4 finish on the leaderboard. Keith played on a team that won 6 games
in a row, while making very few points-deducting errors. Seems like
his strategy worked, as he wins his way through the Finals Night
in Brixton on the 19th of August.
- Ibrahim
Gariba
The high rising athlete from North West London made his impact felt
on both ends of the floor – blocking shots at one end, then
running the full length of the floor to throw down a vicious dunk
at the other. Blocks + Dunks = points + points! Full of unrealised
potential, Ibrahim will definitely surprise some people on finals
night.
- Lekan
Popoola
Another slight surprise who crashed the leaderboard party for a
6th place finish. Lekan’s gritty determination
saw him hustle his way up the scoring ladder. Steals, assists and
team wins were the foundation to Lekan’s success – proving
you can succeed by playing great defense too!
- Mansour
Mbye
The 6'5" force of nature secured rebounds, wins and scored
close to the basket on the high percentage shots. Played consistently
well throughout the night for a well deserved spot in the Finals.
- Dapo
Fagbenle
Long, lean rebounding machine. The most amazing statistic for Daps
entry onto the leaderboard is the fact that he only put the ball
in the basket 4 times all night long! However, what he did do, and
did well, was rebound better than anyone else on the night, plus
block shots, collect team wins and make very few mistakes or turnovers.
Smart strategy paid off for the North West London youngster.
- Samuel
Toluwase
The Beast from the East. Sam’s strong, powerful dunks got
him bonus point after bonus point after bonus point after…(you
get the idea!). Sam's dunks were complemented by good rebounding
and steal on the defensive end of the floor.
- Junior
Williams
The savvy veteran hit 3 pointers, pulled off crossovers, buried
jumpshots and fired assists to highflying team mates all night long.
Decided to "sit" on his score with 3 hours remaining,
believing he had done enough to stay on the leaderboaard. Looks
like he was right. Guaranteed to please in the Finals on the 19th
August.
- Marcus
Knight
It all came down to the last game of the night. Marcus was in a
2 way tie with Darren Sutherland. Both players went head to head
to decide who would make it through to the final spot. Marcus, as
ever, delivered. Sharp shooting has always been the Knight Rider's
calling card, this time was no different. Marcus will be a player
to watch out for come Finals Night.
