The
play was mad physical - and the refs were
letting almost all contact go...which didn't
work in favour of the smaller, weaker Midnight
Madness squad.
Mike Martin picking up two early fouls let
the Brit ballers lacking a rebounding presence,
and they went into the half time break trailing
by 2.
By
this time, the weather had cleared up outside
and the decision was taken to play the rest
of the game back on the outdoor court.
During
the walk back there, Steve Gayle vented
his frustration at the disappointing first
half: "It's some bullshit," he
said.

"We're
gonna have to go a lot stronger than when
we're at home. We just have to get a couple
of breaks, get some stops on the defensive
end and make a few shots and we'll be alright".
Nhamo
wasn't overly impressed with the officials:
"I think the hometown refereeing favours
the other team," he said.
"What
I always say is I don't care where you play,
what country you're from...just call it
both ways."
"Our
guys don't mind playing physical - just
call it both ways".
By
the time we got back onto the main outdoor
court, the skies were blue and, with the
sun beating down, it started getting hot.

Midnight
Madness took to the floor for the second
half and were all business. Germayne Forbes
put aside any fear of getting hurt and relentlessly
drove to the basket - getting knocked all
over the place, but earning free throws
in the process. He hit pretty much every
one...and that proved to be the difference.

Towards
the end of the game, the momentum was with
Midnight Madness and a few fast break dunks
from Mike Martin and Darius Defoe helped
put the game away.
"I
ain't come here to lose," said Germayne
as the final whistle blew. "I'm gonna
play my heart out. If I go down, I'm gonna
go down fighting".

"We've
come here and we're letting them know how
we do it. London represent!" enthused
Nhamo.
