RAF T-SHIRT COMP WINNERS
Tuesday 11 March, 2008
Remember that competition running a couple of months ago - where people were invited to design a Royal Air Force T-shirt, inspired by and incorporating the famous RAF “Target” logo?
Well, there was a massive response...and the winner has been chosen.
The high standard of entries made it a tough job for the judges – who included the leading fashion designer, Wale Adeyemi and Radio 1Xtra DJ Ras Kwame - eventually whittled them down to a final three.
The ultimate winner was Ibrahim Kiranel, 19, who wins a long weekend for two in Miami, with tickets for a top NBA match featuring the Miami Heat. Ibrahim’s design will also be used as the basis for a range of limited edition RAF T-shirts, and he will also receive an RAF iPod.
The two runners-up were Mitul Meghani, 22, and Carl Williams, 21. Mitul and Carl will also see their designs used as the basis for a range of limited edition RAF T-shirts, and each will receive an RAF iPod.
Wale Adeyemi said: “I was pleasantly surprised by how good the entries were. All three finalists showed a real flair for design, and Ibrahim is a deserving winner”.
Anthony Bryan, captain of the RAF basketball team, who was also a judge, said: “The RAF is an exciting and dynamic organisation and each of the winning designs reflects that. These T-shirts are a great advertisement for the RAF”.
